Every Bachelor of Arts degree candidate must complete Burlington College’s General Education requirements and must earn a minimum of 120 credits to achieve a degree. The following course requirements are specific to the Cinema Studies and Film Production major.

Major Requirements
45 credits past the 6 entry level credits are required. All courses are 3 credits unless otherwise noted. Other coursework may be substituted with permission of academic advisor.

Intermediate Level (200) 15 credits

• Non-linear Editing
• Introduction to Screenwriting
• Cinema Studies Electives * —3 credits

Upper Level (300) 21 credits
• Location Audio
• Cinematography
• Topics in Cinema Studies
• Cinema Studies Elective * —6 credits
• Film Production Electives—6 credits

Internship 3 credits

Degree Project I & II (3 credits each) 6 credits

Total Credits Above Entry Level 45

* Cinema studies electives must include 3 credits in Theory/Criticism/Aesthetics. The additional 6 credits of cinema studies electives should be in more than one of the following categories of cinema studies courses: national cinema survey courses, genre courses, “films of” director courses, and special topics courses.
