English Language Requirements
Prospective students whose native language is not English must take an approved test of English as a foreign language. The College recognizes both the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL ) and the Advanced Placement International English Language (APIEL) exam. Acceptable scores for the exams are:
TOEFL (Paper-based): 500
TOEFL (Computer-based): 173
APIEL: 3

Important Notice: As of May 2002 the APIEL exam is no longer available, but students who have already taken it, may submit the official exam report.

Certification of Finances
All international applicants must provide complete and accurate information about the financial resources available to them for educational costs associated with attending Burlington College. Official bank statements documenting financial resources adequate to cover school costs are required. An International Student Certificate of Finances can be printed from this page (double click on underlined title) and should be filled out and included with official bank statement (s). Admission to Burlington College will not be granted without proof of funds to cover educational costs for at least one year. This is a requirement of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
