Injuries or Accidents

Printer-friendly versionIn the case of an injury or accident, students should alert a staff or faculty member immediately. If the situation is an emergency, students should first call 911, then attempt to help only if able and willing. The Front Desk Receptionist should be informed as soon as possible in order to direct rescue workers.

The following procedures should be adhered to in the case of an injury, accident, or emergency situation:

1. Call 911 immediately, if necessary
2. Seek first aid or CPR assistance from a nearby colleague, if necessary
3. Notify the injured individual’s emergency contact, if necessary

The Director of Student Services office will maintain a current list of each student’s emergency contacts. A copy of this contact list will also be kept at the front reception desk for emergency use. The HR office will maintain a list of CPR or other first-aid certified employees. A copy of this list will also be kept at the front reception desk for reference in an emergency situation.

A first aid box is located on each floor of the building. The contents of each first aid box will be inventoried and updated twice each year, or as necessary.
