Meditation: Being Free From Struggle

In this workshop, we will be introduced to both the theory and the practice of traditional Shamatha meditation (cultivation of peace). Meditation is a very direct method for us to connect and work with ourselves in a precise and gentle way. Rather than looking at meditation as a way to escape to a higher plane or more ideal state, we will explore what this approach can do to help us be in this world, to be in our own experience in a way that is open, fresh, and relaxed. This workshop will include meditation instruction, periods of meditation practice, and discussion.
