Ron Leavitt

Printer-friendly versionRon Leavitt is very recently retired orthopaedic hand surgeon who resides in Shelburne, Vermont. He was educated at Brown University, Columbia P&S Med School, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Thomas Jefferson University. Ron served as a major in the USAF Medical Corps and practiced in an orthopaedic group in northern Connecticut for 30 years. He has two grown children, both of whom work in the financial industry, and two step-children with his recently deceased wife Mary Haas.

Ron has traveled extensively and worked as a medical volunteer teacher in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Viet Nam, and Bangladesh with Orthopaedics Overseas. He has served on the Boards of Care Medico and Johnson Memorial Hospital and has held several administrative positions on the medical staff, including President. Since retiring, he has assisted teaching at the medical school and will be investigating other opportunities to participate in the Vermont medical community. He enjoys hiking, gardening, golf, tennis, travel, and jewelry making.
