Is your cover letter making the right impression for you? Want to make sure your resume is perfect before applying for a job? Drop in to any of these workshops to get immediate feedback on your resume and/or cover letter. We will review different aspects of resumes and cover letters, including purpose, content, format, language, and design.

There are 168 hours each week. With classes, study time, work and free time, planning is essential to get things done (and stay sane!). Bryan Shealer will lead this workshop and provide a few time management tools to help you organize your time most efficiently.

This event will feature a panel of Burlington College students who have completed internships. Learn about finding the perfect internship, how to apply, and how to turn your internship experience into a valuable professional development opportunity. Students will hear advice and insight from fellow students and accomplished peers.

How to Write a Business Plan

Writing a solid business plan is a necessary part of being an entrepreneur. From being able to articulate your vision, to pitching to partners, to securing funding from investors, a business plan can provide direction and grounding in your entrepreneurial journey. In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamental parts of a standard business plan, and leave with strategic ideas for your own use.
Professional Development Through Community Service

Volunteer experience and community service have a lot to offer in terms of professional development. Just because you aren’t being paid doesn’t mean volunteer work doesn’t belong on your resume. Hear from this panel of non-profit directors and community leaders about how volunteering can help you develop valuable professional skills.

This event is not your average career fair! We believe in the value of connecting Vermonters to the local community, keeping recent college graduates in the state, and promoting career opportunities. This event will provide the social environment to connect young professionals with career potential. NetWorkIt! will connect you to the 802, and be a starting point for BC’ers and community members to work local, live local and stay local. There will be workshops introducing you to hiring managers, entrepreneurs and more, followed by a networking mixer with vendors and speakers.
