The Cuban teacher exchange program provide VT educators with 3 graduate level credits.The Cuba for Education programs will fulfill VT tecahers professional development requirements.

Total Trip Cost $3500.00 includes:

  • Roundtrip airfare
  • Ground transportation
  • All breakfasts and lunches
  • 7 nights accommodation
  • All travel visas and registration fees
  • Translation services (Spanish speaking ability not required)

This course is open to all education professionals interested in learning about the Cuban education system and earning required professional development credits at the same time.
 

Sample Continuing Education Itinerary

Day 1
Flight from Montreal to Havana
Meet coordinator in Havana and transfer to Hotel in Havana
Check-in, Orientation, Group Dinner

Day 2
Breakfast at Hotel
Transportation to University of Havana
Meet with Cuban teachers in content area, tour university sections based on content area
Meet students based on content area
Lunch
Observe class based on content area
Discussion group with Cuban educators and students
Dinner
Presentation on Cuban educational system

Day 3
Breakfast at Hotel
Transportation to local secondary school in Havana
Meet with Director of School
Meet with teachers in content area
Lunch
Guided tour of Havana schools
Dinner
Vermont educators seminar and discussion group on observations

Day 4

Transportation to assigned local secondary school in Havana
Observe and participate in class
Lunch
Discussion group with Cuban educators re: Vermont education system
Q&A with Cuban educators
Teach mini-class to Cuban students

Join secondary school students, educators for field trip based to relevant location in Havana based on content area (arts, science, history etc.)
