The responsibilities of the Board of Trustees are to sustain the Mission of Burlington College, hire and supervise a President to carry out the Mission, ensure the development and continuance of a strategic plan based on the Mission, monitor progress toward the goals of the plan, set policy for the College, ensure the academic and fiscal integrity of the College, and participate actively in fund-raising and other development activities. While appropriately lending its collective and individual expertise and maintaining timely communication with the Administration of the College, the Board or its individual members shall take no active role in the management of the College.
