Course # CED023
Instructor: Alissa White
Date: Wednesdays, October 2, 9
Time: 6:15-8:15 pm
Room: Board Room, Room 212
Join Vermont orchardist and permaculture educator Alissa White for an introduction to ecological design in the home landscape and permaculture tools for every gardener. Learn how to assess microclimates in your landscape, assemble mutually supportive guilds of plants and use an observative nature to maximize the beneficial relationships among plants in your landscape. An observation and understanding of natural ecosystems will help us envision and design a landscape which is beautiful, healthy, diverse, and largely a self-maintaining ecosystem.
Ecological Landscaping is a method of designing, building, and maintaining landscapes that considers the ecology of a site and creates gardens that enhance the surrounding environment for the benefit of humans and all other life in the ecosystem.
