The Department of Student Life at Burlington College is an eclectic mix of fun and focus. We strive to provide students with opportunities to further their academic and personal growth through multiple services, including: the Burlignton College Student Association, new-student orientation, residential life, student activities, disability services, judicial affairs and career and graduate school guidance.
The Director of Student Services Office houses these various departments and is easily accessible to students on weekdays during regular College hours. In addition, there are frequent evening events and programs that will find the Director of Student Services on campus and available to students.
The City of Burlington and State of Vermont have a lot to offer in the way of adventures and excursions to keep our students active in their downtime. A pedestrian lane connects the College to the downtown waterfront community and the bike path that stretches along the shores of Lake Champlain and up through the islands. A community sailing center, boathouse, marina, and boardwalk can also be found here. Public transportation stops almost at our door.
The Green Mountains, the Catamount Trail and some of the best wind-surfing in the northeast are close by. Burlington, Vermont is also the birthplace of Burton snowboards. Several mountains for riding and skiing are only a short drive away, including Stowe, Sugarbush, Bolton, Jay Peak and Killington.
Downtown Burlington is filled with sidewalk cafés, restaurants, galleries, and shops. It alternates between a relaxing place to meet up with friends and a bustling metropolis with festivals of varying descriptions almost every weekend during the summer. Additionally, Burlington is home to an arts and music scene unrivaled anywhere! For those interested in big-city life, Montréal is only an hour-and-a-half away, Boston four hours, and New York less than six hours.
